1st visit to the dentist

Last Thursday, Lucas took almost two hrs in school to do a half Hr work. In the end, after 2 hrs, nothing was written.

Brought him home.
Got him to start writing.
Then I realized there was smtg in his mouth that he was either playing or chewing or smtg...

Mom: are u eating smtg?
Lucas: no
Mom: what's in ur mouth?
Lucas: sticks out his tongue..
Mom: are u playing with ur saliva?
Lucas: no. I m playing with my teeth..
Mom: what's that??!!
Lucas opened his mouth n at this instant I saw his top left incisor bleeding! The tooth was loose.

Four days later, the tooth is still loose. No choice but to quickly get an appointment NOW!

In my heart I really don't wished for an extraction because he is so young! It will take up to 5 yrs before he can have his adult tooth to replace that! Oh dear..

The clinic reminds me of my gynecologist in new Hampshire. It's a very quiet place with all sorts of medical clinics in the building. We waited a while before Lucas was ushered into the doctor's room. She was not even standing up and along with us were two assistants so I almost couldn't tell who's the doctor!! She was on her kneels n greeted Lucas so warmly n introduced herself! When she asked Lucas "how are u today!?" Lucas replied "good!"

Lucas did an x-ray to check the upper row of teeth. He had two broken teeth!!!! One is the front tooth and the other one is the shaky tooth! Apparently for no reason why the front teeth though broken but the gum still manages to hold on to it so it's ok to leave it alone but there was slight inflammatory at the shaky one. Lucas will be on medication for a week before we see the dentist again to do a clean up and then to assess if the gum is able to hold the shaky tooth, otherwise we will have to get it out! :(

All these time, Lucas behaved very well. Reason: they had a tv in front of him which can be tilted and adjusted so that he can be watching "thomas the train" while the pretty dentist checked him!! Woohoo.. First class treatment!
